Life Begins In Arizona is released!!!

It's released!!! My boss lady wasn't kidding when she said I was getting an expedited release date due to the unforeseen circumstances that popped up during the process of producing this book.
My baby is released! Finally!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. Can you tell?
Life Begins In Arizona is available for digital release as of today at The Wild Rose Press. Claire and Jake begged me for a long time to get their story out. I hope you love them as much as I do.
Also, this means that in six months Life Begins In Arizona will be available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders etc.
I'll pop back in this weekend to post a contest so stop back and check out the fun. You may just win a free copy!

I blinked...where did summer go?
Ah well, I'm actually getting things done, but my days are full to say the least. The good news is that I've been informed that I'll have a release date for Life Begins In Arizona within the next ten days! Yay!

I know, I know, it sure has been a while, but many delays and events out of my control later, I've been promised a release date by none other than the "boss lady" (as we affectionately call her) at The Wild Rose Press. Stay tuned for more details.
Meanwhile, I've started back to Pitt for the fall term and I'm busier than ever with a full time schedule plus a new undertaking this year. I was offered, and I accepted a position as a research assistant with UPMC in the Personality Studies department! (One of my favorite areas!) It's a work study position through Pitt University, entry level for sure, but I had my first day today and I'm so excited to be involved with this work in any way possible.
Regarding my classes, I'm loving all of them so far! Seems like each term just keeps getting better than the last.
I'm within reasonable reach of a double major in Psychology and Sociology this year and I'm enjoying both areas of study.
I can't believe summer is coming to a close. We had our last day at the pool yesterday. Wow. It seemed surreal. Wasn't it only yesterday that the summer began?
Wasn't it only yesterday that my daughter and my son-in-law were home from Japan? Wasn't it only yesterday that my son was home from North Dakota?
Was it really several weeks ago that I lit the unity candle at my son's wedding? That I cried when my daughter-in-law sprang a video on the wedding guests in the middle of the ceremony, complete with photographs of my son as a baby in my arms, then growing through the years--all captured in photos--and set to the tune of "You're Gonna Miss This" crooned by Trace Adkins? Oh dear, I'm not even embarrassed to tell you all I cried like a baby over that one. Tsk, tsk, Carrie. That was a rotten trick to pull on a mother on her son's wedding day.
Was it really only a few short weeks ago that I danced the mother/son dance with him to Lee Ann Womack singing "I Hope You Dance"? Yes, my Air Force son is all grown up and married now. It's reality.
And where did those six weeks of my summer class go? And what about all the other great things I shared with friends and family this summer? Have all those summer Friday evenings enjoying the wonderful music provided by the summer concert series in the park really come and gone already?
And those fantastically lazy days spent poolside doing nothing but basking in the sun and enjoying the weather? And the twilight walks enjoying the setting sun? And "Sizzlin' Saturday" picnics after the early evening church services? And let's not forget relaxing on the porch with my feet propped up engaged in relaxing conversation or just watching the moon rise. And time spent playing frisbee with my sheltie? She adores chasing the frisbee and playing "monkey in the middle"!
And evenings spent listening to someone very special who can play piano one hundred times better than I, and the same goes for guitar...where have the lazy hazy days of summer gone? Oh my.
I've not even mentioned birthdays, holidays, memorial services, bike rides, amusement parks, and more. Wow. No wonder summer has streaked by with the speed of light!
And what of my writing someone asked? Ah. Well, I have two projects I'd hoped to squeeze to completion this summer before returning to school, but you know what they say--a good work of art can't be rushed. Ha! I'll continue to work on both of them, and hope for the best.
In the mean time, I'm gearing up for the release of Life Begins In Arizona and dancing on air over knowing that everyone will finally, FINALLY meet Claire and Jake! And the best part is that in six months, LBIA will be available through Barnes and Noble, Borders, Amazon, etc. with its own handy ISBN number. Lordy, Lordy, who'd have thunk it. A couple of years ago, getting this novel out was simply a dream. But then, so were so many other things... Just goes to show that one should never give up hope on anything.
Come back soon for an excerpt from Life Begins In Arizona, and, of course, as always, I usually include other little gems of information here on my blog as well.
Also, feel free to check out my latest adventure over at Romancing the Hood.
May your summer morph seamlessly to autumn with beauty and grace,
Lee
