I know it's early, but I'm smiling. I've been to Bailey's blog to get my Friday laugh fix and make fun of the spam.
My son's school has yet another snow delay today. (I'm sooo ready for spring weather.) I thought I had my class schedule set up conveniently, but this is really interfering with my best of plans. The good news is that I have time to get in here and play a little, and also that my Friday schedule is light at school so I can actually make up the lecture I'll miss at ten am by going to the noon lecture for a different section of the same class. All is not lost today.
In my music class, later in the day, I have to perform a piece of music I composed as an assignment, as well as two other tasks for a grade. And people told me that this piano class was easy. Ha!
That might be true for people who can already sight read music, but for me... Well, so far my grade is good but let's just say it's not as easy for me as it seems to be for the others.
I walked in to my little beginners piano class the other day and watched in amazement as one of my fellow students played what simply had to be some classical piece of work that Mozart surely designed. It was beautiful. His hands were sure and steady on the keys, and he didn't struggle or hesitate one little bit as the music flowed.
Me? I mustered up my confidence and settled at my own piano. I plugged in my head set so nobody could hear me, lol, and then practiced my scales and other assigned piano 101 songs. There's good news here too--though the sight reading of the notes is still painful for me, I'm actually seeing that it's slowly sinking in and I'm able to make progress each time I practice. :)
Well, you can still wish me luck for that performance grade today.
Have a wonderful Friday, and a great weekend!

YAY! Lee, for having the courage to learn another way of expression. I know beautiful music will flow from your hands.
This reminds me of going to music camp during my choir years in high school. We had to take music theory, even though I was there to SING. The instructor handed out blank music scores, sat down at the piano, played chords and told us to write in the clef mark and notes. I thought I was going to die but am still here. LOL Made a C in the class and to this day, don't know how. It was a challenge to recognize ANY notes.
Have a super day!!! I'm dreaming of your flowing music.
Hugs, JJ
Good luck, Lee!
